The year of the wood horse begins -kes

Sketch two-oil pastels never fail to satisfy...officially distracted now.
score: art supplies-3, artist focus-0

First sketch-would rather work on some other ideas

A silk painting project for this weekend. Step 1, rinse out the sizing and iron the silk.
Its Friday so a little happy hour scotch and Hayseed Dixie music accompany the artwork in progress.

Eldritch
This is my stop motion animation puppet, Eldritch. He is the star of my fairy tale about transformation. The puppets and the sets are constructed out of  materials that have been liberated from the trash. A friendly neighbor in the building  (where my studio is) dropped off boxes filled with drapery and upholstery sample books. After I had designed a few wall hangings, some wacky jewelry, Christmas ornaments and a few clothing items, well, I was still not satisfied. The next step in this process are his counterparts, The Jays, a gang of local toughs trying to intimidate Eldritch off of his true path to self discovery. I'll post their mug shots as soon as I've constructed them. Until the next post- enjoy- skf.

folktale -kes

A new twist on the beanstalk story.
The giant had a horse.
One day it decided to go grazing...

Mermaid prep work

Here are some pieces from a mermaid project I am working on, which is almost done. The fish are from one of my journal pages from long ago. They are drawn, stamped, and painted w/c paper on chipboard. They have a pearl finish which is why the picture quality is suspect. The leaf (yes, Christmas clearance) will be converted to seaweed, glitter and all.
In the works currently: Saddlebreds, prayer flags, and journal pages.-az

The studio is in disarray-translation-work is getting done.

I gesso'ed it today & later it gets a colorful coat and proper home in a mixed media creation...that probably won't be coming anytime soon to a famous gallery near you.
long live the blog.
