More Sketchbook.......

I started to work in sketchbooks daily about five years ago. My grandmother left me all her art supplies including ephemera so I made a simple, little journal to honor her memory. But after that, I started exploring a topic that I had previously discounted for myself - art journaling. Then, I started my daily practice of art. As I look at my older drawings, I realized that practice may not make them all perfect but they are definitely starting to get better.

The below was started more than twenty years ago and I updated about five years ago. I think I might of just threw the yellow on to see what the color looked like. I also used salt and watercolor on her dress. The bird was also just a blob of paint that looked like a bird so I finished it to that effect.

The below is the reverse of the above, meaning the above image bled through the paper and I just drew in the lines so the pages are somewhat similar. Sometimes, I like the bleed through otherwise, I just cover it up with paper or craft paint.

Until the next time,

Strange pets

Okay, it's hard to admit, I'm off on a tangent. Again. And I need to complete the lower left of the work.
But I thought you would think my creatures, a buzzle and al'sprit, were great fun. I tried to create a diorama of the eco system in which they may live.
Strange worlds and strange pets.
I hope this inspires you to make some crazy critters of your own.

The painting is coming along but I'd just rather have the dog back.

' I have sometimes thought of the final cause of dogs having such short lives and I am quite satisfied it is in compassion for the human race; for if we suffer so much in losing a dog after an acquaintance of ten or twelve years, what would it be if they were to live double that time? '
-Sir Walter Scott
